Track N Trail Cycles
Repairs & Servicing
Big or small we undertake all jobs, the simple puncture repair, building and setting up your bike bought online that arrives in a box, custom wheel building, full strip down, rebuilds and much much more. Our fully qualified mechanic has all your bicycle issues covered. We have no interest in selling you parts you don’t need and have no problem in fitting parts you have purchased elsewhere.
We also carry out fleet servicing and have large contract customers who have fleets of over 100 bicycles.
Like most bike shops have limited space allocated to a workshop and storage facilities, so you may have to book in advance.
Many bikes shops will only offer repairs for bikes that have been purchased from their shop, as we don't stock bikes, that is not an issue at Track N Trail Cycles.
You deal directly with the qualified mechanic who will work on your bike, not the counter staff who will fill out a job ticket.
After an inspection of the bike, you will know how much the repair will cost before we start work and are under no obligation if you don't want to go ahead.
We are here for all your bike related needs from the humble puncture repair, or a cycle safety check through to our full bike strip down service.

Mountain Bike Leadership
At Track N Trail Cycles we offer Mountain Bike Leader qualifications as part of the Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme (MIAS) levels 1, 2 & 3.
The scheme provides training and assessment in the technical and group management skills required by those who wish to lead groups in a variety of off-road environments, in the United Kingdom. It integrates training, experience and assessment in a variety of testing conditions in off-road country.
The syllabus for the course covers:
Responsibilities of the Group Leader
Navigation, including micro-navigation, using cycle computers, maps and various
Access and Conservation
The 2 day course is mostly practical with DAY 1 being a training day which covers all aspects of the syllabus to ensure the candidate has all the required knowledge and understanding of the content. DAY 2 involves the assessment where the candidate is required to demonstrate a good level of personal, group management, and problem solving skills. There will also be an exam to assess the candidates’ general biking knowledge.
At the end of the 2 days the candidate will either come out with a Level 1, level 2 or they will be deferred in order to consolidate their skills and knowledge.
1. Level One – Non Technical Terrain – allowing access into low-level terrain, with little potential hazards. i.e. country parks, canal towpaths, and non-wilderness areas where help is almost immediately accessible.
2. Level Two – Technical Terrain – allowing access into Wild Country, with the potential hazards that surround such terrain. For low level ride below 600 meters in wilderness areas.
3. MIAS Level 3 (MBL3) -Mountainous Terrain - This is the next step up from the MBL2. This is a development course for leaders who hold a MIAS level 2. The terrain covered can be above 600 meters and typically involves long descents, large drop offs and rock steps or a combination of technical manoeuvres one after another.
Park Tool School
The 2 Day Park Tool School gives you the confidence to do your own basic repairs and maintenance to enable you to be more self-reliant on the road or on the trail. You’ll know what you can do, know how to spot work that’s beyond your tooling or skills, and know what to ask for when you go to Track N Trail Cycles for your repairs. Because 2 days offers only a limited amount of time, we have selected specific content based on some essential elements, for example, small repairs that can be handled with limited experience, common mechanical challenges that cyclists face and based on a home mechanics budget for tooling. We aim to build a foundation of mechanical knowledge, by the end of the 2 Day course you will be able to complete the jobs to allow you to complete a basic service of your bike.
We also offer various other Short Courses or Classes covering various subjects like wheel truing, cockpit set up (MTB) and many others.
Track N Trail Cycles offer a 12 Week Pedal Fit Training Programme. This is designed to help you improve your Pedal Fitness, as well as your overall fitness, what ever your current level, so it will benefit all levels of current fitness.
It covers the rationale behind the programme and gives an easy to follow 12 week programme.
As with all training programmes, the more you put in, the more you get out.
See the "Things To Come" page for up coming other courses.
